Registration process for current students

2. Submission of required documents

    -  a copy of passport and Alien Registration Card(front & back) to the ELC office either in person or by email(kfl2@ewha.ac.kr)

3. Document screening -> Result by email

4. Tuition payment and submission the tuition receipt

5. Apply for the certificate of enrollment and attendance for D-4 Visa extension (kfl@ewha.ac.kr, Only for current D-4 Visa holders)



Registration process for new students

1. Online applicaton (http://atom.ewha.ac.kr) and notification via email(kfl2@ewha.ac.kr)
  •     - Students from non visa exempt countires must register for at least two semesters at once
  • 2.  Submission of required documents 

    - D-4 applicants: email(JPG/PDF) and post(original documents) submission

    - Non D-4 applicants: email(JPG/PDF) submission only

3.  Document screening → Results sent by email

4.  Tuition payment 

- D-4 applicants only: Issuance of Certificate of Admission for visa application ⇒ Visa application and acquisition

5.  Placement test before the start of the semester(written & speaking)

6.  Admission

※ Registration will be completed only after all procedures—including online application, document submission, document review, and tuition payment—are finished by the tuition payment deadline.

※ If there are many registrants, the registration may close early.

※ Students in the Intensive Program will be automatically enrolled in insurance (included in the tuition fee).



Important Notes for Document Submission

1. The submitted documents will not be returned

2. For original documents, it is mandatory to send them by post (or international mail).

    - Please send scanned copies via email first to ensure all documents are complete before mailing the originals.

3. Documents written in languages other than Korean or English must be translated into either English or Korean and notarized.

    - In particular, the English translation of the graduation certificate must be submitted with a separate apostille.

4. Submitting the required documents does not guarantee the issuance of a Certificate of Admission.

   - Once all required documents are received, we will proceed with the document screening.

5. ELC administration office does not reveal the reasons for rejection

6. Document screening takes approximately 1~2 weeks.

Required Documents - Visa Waiver Agreement

1. For Non D-4 Visa Applicants

    1) Online Application via the website(http://atom.ewha.ac.kr)

    2) Copy of passport 

    3) Copy of Alien Registration Card (front & back; for visa holders only)

    4) Copy of graduation certificate from the most recent school, AND certificate of enrollment if currently attending university


2. For D-4 Visa Applicants (from Visa Waiver Countries)

    1) Online Application via the website(http://atom.ewha.ac.kr)

        * Application for two semesters is mandatory

    2) Copy of passport

    3) Original graduation certificate from the most recent school (with Apostille) AND original certificate of enrollment(if currently attending university) 

    4) Original bank balance certificate under applicant’s or a parent’s name

         - Balance of at least 10,000,000 KRW for two semesters. 

         - Issued within 30 days prior to D-4 visa application (most recent one required)

         - If under a parent’s name: original proof of family relationship required

Notarized Verified by both the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Thailand AND the Thai Embassy in Korea or the Korean Embassy in Thailand.
* The consular legalization must have been issued within the past six months.
4 Bank balance confirmation Original * Bank statement letter under applicant's name OR Bank statement letter under a parent's name with a notarized certificate of family relationship (such as a birth certificate), showing a balance of at least 10,000,000 KRW to cover two terms.

* You must apply for a D-4 visa within 30 days of issuance of the bank balance statement letter

* As it takes time to screen the documents and issue a certificate of admission, please submit the most recent version. 

5 Bank statement for the past three months Original

* A bank statement indicating a consistent balance of over 10,000,000 KRW for the past three months.

* It must be issued within 30 days of your visa application.

If more than one year has passed since the applicant’s latest graduation, additional documents(original) that prove the applicant’s activities during the gap period must be submitted.

For Russia, 9 to 11 are not needed. However, if parents’ employment or income proof cannot be submitted, documents 9–11 can be used instead

Tuition Fees

Current students (Re-enrollment for the next semester while taking the current semester)

  • Program tuition fee: 1,800,000 KRW

Textbook cost [53,000KRW ~ 60,000KRW / per semester] is not included.

The tuition fees above are based on September 2025 and may change without advanced notice.

Students who re-enroll after skipping two or more consecutive semesters, are required to pay the admission fee again and retake the placement test.

After remitting the money, write the name of the student on the remittance confirmation form and send it by fax or mail to Ewha Language Center; or e-mail the Language Center upon payment.

Cheques are not accepted.

Dormitory registration

Course cancellation and tuition fee refund

  • In case of refund, amount of refundable tuition fee will be calculated depending on the date of request.
  • The date of request is determined by the number of passed course days. The date of request is also regarded as a passed course day.

  • Application fee cannot be refund.
  • A day of class is equivalent to 4 hours. If you had 8 hours of class in a day, (for Culture Class, for example), it is counted as 2 days of regular class.
  • In case of overseas transactions, student who cancel the registration should cover the transaction fee if happens.
  • Students who were issued a C-3 or D-4 Visa with the certificate of admission to ELC can cancel the registration only when requested documents are submitted.
  • For detailed information, please contact ELC office in advance, before cancellation.

Cancelling classes after the semester begins, the scholarship benefits you have received will be cancelled.

VISA

  • Students qualify to apply for a General Language Training [D-4] Visa when registered for at least 2 semesters of Intensive Program.

Certificate of Admission is issued for students’ Visa application.
