Our MA program strives to maintain a balance between theory and practice by offering courses that focus on the linguistic, psychological, sociocultural, and practical aspects of language learning and teaching. We also seek to cultivate in our students the ability to understand and critically evaluate current research findings to inform their own professional practices.

The caliber of Ewha's faculty and its reputation as a top-ranked research university attract many graduate applicants. Requirements of the Master's degree include at least four full semesters of study and a minimum of 24 credits. In addition, successful candidates must present a thesis or publish research, pass a qualifying Master's examination in their field of study, and achieve language proficiency scores are required in tests of English such as TOEFL, TOEIC, TEPS, and IELTS OR tests of Korean such as TOPIK.
