[GDIS] 2026-1 Semester PH.D/Combined Progress Review

1. Eligibility

- Students who have completed the 2nd semester of the Ph.D. program or the 4th regular semester of the Combined program are eligible to proceed with the Progress Review for the 2026-1 semester.

*We highly recommend all students review the Spring 2026 student handbook on the GSIS website > Campus Life > Useful Links & Forms > Student Handbook and Notice on GSIS website notice.

2. Progress Review Method:

- Discuss with your academic advisor and compose a Progress Review Committee: composed of 2 professors, including your academic advisor. (A professor who is related to your research topic is recommended for the committee chair)

1. [GSIS 6-1] form needed

2. - Thesis plan submission: Around 1 page about thesis topics/interests and a rough schedule of when/how you will write a thesis. (Must discuss with your professor)

• No specific format for Thesis plan

3. - Appointment with professors: Discuss with your progress review committee members. Share the finalized meeting schedule (Online or Offline) with the GDIS office for reference.

• (e.g. October 9th (Tuesday) at 3 PM/Offline meeting with Prof. _____ and Prof. _____).

4. - Screening starts After the submission deadline.

• The GDIS office will deliver your transcript directly by email to the committees.

5. - Result

• The Chair of the GDIS notifies the student of the Progress Review Committee's evaluation results.
