On May 1, we had the pleasure of welcoming Ms. Kyungmin Park from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), who shared insights into her career journey and the role of international organizations in global development. The lecture began with an introduction to the IDB and its mission to support economic and social development in Latin America and the Caribbean through financing, technical cooperation projects, and partnerships with governments and private-sector actors. Ms. Park also introduced her work in the education division, where she supports digital transformation and AI-related education projects, while serving as a Korean consultant funded by the Korean Ministry of Economy and Finance.

The session further explored how international development projects are designed and implemented, particularly in the field of digital education. Drawing from projects in countries such as Honduras and Peru, Ms. Park explained how the IDB collaborates with ministries of education, local partners, and regional consultants to strengthen teachers’ digital competencies and support AI-driven education initiatives. She emphasized the growing importance of data-driven policymaking, impact evaluation, and interdisciplinary collaboration, while also discussing broader challenges facing the international development sector, including funding uncertainty, bureaucracy, and the rapid emergence of AI technologies.

In the latter part of the lecture, Ms. Park reflected on her own career experiences across international development, impact investment, and research, offering practical advice for students interested in global careers. She highlighted the importance of work experience, networking, industry monitoring, and strong corporate skills such as project management, communication, and organizational ability. Concluding the session, she encouraged students to remain agile and adaptable in their career paths, emphasizing that “you cannot plan everything, but you can maximize the value of each experience.”

5월 1일, 미주개발은행(IDB)의 박경민 컨설턴트를 초청하여 강사님의 경력과 국제 개발에서 분야에서의 국제기구의 역할에 대해 배울 수 있는 시간을 가졌습니다. IDB 소개로 강연을 시작하셨고, 자금 지원, 기술 협력, 정부 및 민간 부문과의 파트너십을 통해 라틴 아메리카와 카리브해 지역의 경제 및 사회 발전을 지원하는 IDB의 사명 등에 대해서도 설명해주셨습니다. 또한 교육 부문에서 한국 재정경재부의지원을 받는 한국인 컨설턴트로 활동하며 디지털 전환 및 AI 관련 교육 프로젝트를 지원하는 등의 강사님의 업무도 소개해주셨습니다. 

이후에는 디지털 교육 분야에서 국제 개발 프로젝트가 어떻게 설계되고 실행되는지에 대해서 상세하게 설명해주셨습니다. 온두라스와 페루의 사례를 바탕으로, IDB가 교육부, 현지 파트너, 지역 컨설턴트와 어떻게 협력하여 교사의 디지털 역량을 강화하고 AI 기반 교육 이니셔티브를 지원하는지에 대해서 말씀해주셨습니다. 박컨설턴트님께서는 데이터 기반 정책 수립, 성과 평가, 학제 간 협력의 중요성이 커지고 있음을 강조하셨고, 자금 조달의 불확실성, 관료주의, AI 기술의 급속한 등장 등 국제 개발 분야가 직면한 광범위한 과제들에 대해서도 말씀해주셨습니다.

강연의 후반부에서 국제 개발, 임팩트 투자, 연구 분야에 걸친 그 동안의 경력 경험을 정리해주시며, 글로벌 경력을 꿈꾸는 학생들에게 실질적인 조언이 될 수 있는 내용에 대해서도 말씀해주셨습니다. 실무 경험, 인맥 구축, 업계 동향 파악, 프로젝트 관리, 의사소통 그리고  조직력 같은 탄탄한 업무 역량의 중요하다는점을 강조하셨습니다. 세션을 마무리하며, 학생들에게 진로 선택에 있어 열린 마음과 유연성을 유지할 것을 권하며, “모든 커리어를 계획할 수는 없지만, 각 경험의 가치를 극대화할 수는 있다”는 말씀을 전해주셨습니다."
