Professor Youngjoo Kwon and her Ph.D candidates (all currently post-doc researchers), Soo-Yeon Hwang and Seojeong Park published a paper in the world-renowned journal, “Pharmacology & Therapeutics” (IF: 10.557, JCR ranking top 2.6%) on July, 2019.

 In this paper, they have extensively reviewed pathological mechanisms and diverse therapeutic targets for triple negative breast cancer (TNBC). The article comprehensively deals with the complicated tumorigenic processes and discusses critical findings and therapeutic trends in TNBC with a focus on promising therapeutic approaches. This article also summarizes the clinical trials currently underway, and potent experimental compounds under preclinical and evaluation.

Professor Kwon stated that the major significance of this paper is that it may provide an academic foundation for future efforts to establish competitive drug development strategies for incurable diseases like TNBC.
