Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering

The Division of Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering (MBE) is committed to improving the quality of human life by solving some of the global challenges through multidisciplinary research, particularly in intelligent systems, sustainability, and healthcare. The specific topics of the Division currently include but are not limited to computational design, robotics, artificial intelligence, renewable energy, biosensors, tissue engineering, biomechanics, rehabilitation, and medical imaging.

The MBE Division also fosters future generations of female engineers, especially those with interdisciplinary thinking who comprehensively employ theoretical modeling, multiphysics simulation, artificial intelligence, and hands-on methods for problem-solving. The Division, thus, offers multiple curriculum tracks on mechanical, biomedical, and data engineering, which help students identify and locate their learning needs and shape their learning pathways and career development.
