SCHOLARSHIPS

Eligibility

  • All officially enrolled & tuition-paying visiting students in Ewha ISC

Note:

  • Students under exchange status (tuition and application fee already waived) are not eligible to apply for the below scholarships.
  • EISC Ambassador Scholarship: send application to gosummer@ewha.ac.kr.
  • EWUUACNA Washington DC Chapter Scholarship: send application materials to the Scholarship Committee Chair of EWUUACNA Washington DC Chapter.
  • All other types of Full Scholarships: apply directly to the International Foundation for Ewha Womans University (as instructed in the attached guideline).
  • Scholarship results will be announced through individual e-mails.
  • Student can apply for ONLY ONE of the full scholarships. Students CANNOT apply for multiple scholarships at once.

EISC Ambassador Scholarship

Half-tuition and application fee waiver
Students with superior influence are eligible to apply.
Required documents:

  1. Completed EISC Ambassador Scholarship application form
  2. A copy of college transcript
  3. An essay on your experience at Ewha with photo and 2~3 posts during the week (in free format)
  4. A copy of passport bio-page
  5. SNS Portfolio (Higher number of instagram and Youtube followers and related postings to Ewha)

EISC-EWUUACNA (Ewha Womans University United Alumnae Chapters of North America), Washington DC Chapter Scholarship

Tuition for 1 course and Application fee support for 2 students (*Housing fee supported by EISC) 
The Washington, DC Chapter of EWUUACNA scholarship supports both foreign nationals and Korean nationals currently residing in the USA who wish to study in the Ewha ISC.

Required documents:

  1. Completed application form
  2. A copy of college/university transcript (applicable to undergraduate students) or a copy of an acceptance letter from the admitted institution (applicable to high school students)
  3. Personal essay (free form)
  4. Resume
  5. A copy of passport
  6. A letter of recommendation from professor/teacher

Gloria Hahn Memorial Scholarship 

Full tuition and application fee support for 1 student
Dr. Richard Hahn established this memorial scholarship for his wife, Kim Ronyoung (Mrs. Gloria Hahn) in 1988.
Mrs. Hahn is the author of “Clay Walls”, the first novel written by a Korean-American about Korean immigrants to the USA during the early 20th century.

Bishop SharonZ. Rader Scholarship 

Full tuition and application fee support for 4 students

For study at Ewha Womans University International Summer School
The board of International Foundation for Ewha W. University established a scholarship fund with the undesignated income from the 40th anniversary dinner in 2010 and named it Bishop Sharon Zimmerman Rader Scholarship to honor the love, dedication and leadership for Ewha she has shown in her presidency (2002-2014). It is for non-Korean American/Canadian students to study at Ewha’s International Summer School.

Drs. Ira & Chang Hyun Shin Geer Scholarship 

Full tuition, application fee and housing fee support for 2 students
For study at Ewha Womans University International Summer School.
Drs. Ira & Cindy Chang Hyun Shin Geer established this scholarship. Dr. Cindy Chang Hyun Shin Geer (’57 Education) graduated from Ewha Womans University and the State University of New York, Buffalo, with Ph.D. in International Education (1981). She is the author of River of Faith – 40 years history of the International Foundation for Ewha W. University. This Scholarship supports the International Summer College students from developing countries.

Southern California Alumnae Summer School Scholarship 

Full tuition and application fee support for 4 students
The Southern California Alumnae Summer School Scholarship was established in November, 2015 by the Ewha University Alumnae Association of Southern California. This scholarship is for US students enrolled in accredited US college/university who want to study at Ewha International Summer College. Preferably residents in zip code 900XX – 928XX.

  • Students receiving Glorida Hahn Memorial Scholarship, Southern California Alumnae Summer School Scholarship, Drs. Ira & Chang Hyun Shin Geer Scholarship and Bishop Sharon Z. Rader Scholarship must take at least 2 or 3 courses in Ewha ISC.

List of Partial Scholarships (applicable to both Session 1 & Session 2)

Early Bird Registration Scholarship
  • Session 1 and Session 2: 200,000KRW tuition discount


    This scholarship is automatically available to students who complete the total application process, including submission of the online application and payment of the application fee and tuition by March 24, 2023 for Session 1 and May 26, 2023 for Session 2.
Ewha Alumnae Scholarship
  • Session 1 and Session 2: 100,000KRW tuition discount

Re-Enrollment Scholarship
  • Session 1 and Session 2: 100,000KRW tuition discount
    This scholarship is automatically available to students who had participated in Ewha OIA program.
  • Maximum cost of discount for Session 1 is 400,000 KRW.
  • Maximum cost of discount for Session 2 is 200,000 KRW.
